NASCAR Camping World Truck Series
Pocono Mountains 150
No. 51 JEGS.com Toyota Tundra
Coughlin will take to the “Tricky Triangle” at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania on Saturday, July 30 for the Pocono Mountains 150. The race is 60 laps.
The Race Track
Pocono Raceway is a 2.5-mile triangle with three distinctively different corners. It opened in 1968 and has hosted NASCAR racing since 1974. Saturday’s 150-mile race will be the seventh NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event held at Pocono Raceway.
The Race Truck
Cody Coughlin and the No. 51 JEGS.com Kyle Busch Motorsports team will pilot chassis No. KBM-030. This will be the fourth appearance for KBM-030 this season and third time with Coughlin. KBM-030 was Coughlin’s truck at Kansas Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway. Saturday at Pocono will be KBM-030’s 11th overall race. It’s best finish came at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last October when it finished fifth.
The Crew Chief
Kevin “Bono” Manion will be calling the shots atop the pit box for Coughlin. It will be the fourth race for Coughlin and Manion as a team. Manion is an accomplished crew chief with a Daytona 500 championship on his resume. Manion and Jamie McMurray won the 500 together in 2009.
“I thought things went really well last week at Eldora and Cody had a great run that night,” Manion said. “I was really impressed with how quickly he took the to dirt and how well he ran in the feature. Hopefully we have that same kind of success happen this week in Pocono. With a good practice on Friday I think we’ll have a strong run on Saturday in the race.”
The Season to Date
Cody Coughlin has seen plenty of success so far in 2016 on the Late Model side. Coughlin currently leads the points standings in both the ARCA/CRA Super Series and JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour with five total wins between both series (three in Super Series, two in All-Stars Tour).
Coughlin’s last race ended with him taking the checkered flag in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100-lap feature at Anderson Speedway last Saturday night.
